Shopping Local Convenient, Good for Community
Tywana German, Executive Director of the Sauk Prairie Chamber of Commerce, spoke to the Optimist Club on November 29th about the benefits of shopping locally. While it is unrealistic to think all shopping can be done locally, shifting even 10% of your purchases to local vendors can make a huge difference. Not only does shopping locally foster a sense of community, it helps support schools, healthcare providers, first responders, and other community services. The Optimist Club of Sauk Prairie meets on Wednesdays at 7 a.m. (noon the first Wednesday of the month) in the River Room of the Blue Spoon. New members and visitors are welcome!
