Emerson Drew named Optimist Middle Level Leader
Emerson Drew is the Optimist Sauk Prairie Middle Level Leader for February. She is an 8th grader and the daughter of David and Cynthia Drew. Emerson was nominated by her teachers on Team M. They said Emerson is an amazing and very busy young woman. Besides earning very good grades, Emerson is involved in a tremendous number of activities at school including Show Choir, Green Team, Forensics and Student Council. Most of these activities require meetings before school, after school and/or during lunch. Emerson is willing to give up much of her free time to help with these purposeful causes and school activities. In the classroom, Emerson is a leader as a role model to all students, volunteering to read, answer questions, go to the board or help others. Emerson is also a 8th grade mentor, meaning she was nominated by her 7th grade teachers as a role model and leader. Additionally, Emerson has been participating in cross country for all three years at the middle school and has been a leader and a role model especially this year for the younger runners. Outside school, Drew is involved in dance and has been in several Sauk Prairie Theatre Guild productions. She hopes to attend the University of California- Santa Barbara to study Art and Music Therapy.
The Sauk Prairie Optimist Club meets every Wednesday, the first Wednesday at noon and the remaining Wednesdays at 7 a.m. at the Blue Spoon Café in Prairie du Sac. Check us out on Facebook.
