Yanke named Optimist Student of the Month
Katie Yanke, a Senior at Sauk Prairie High School, was honored on October 10 as the September Sauk Prairie Optimist Student of the Month. Katie is the daughter of Herb and Cathy Yanke. Assistant Principal Shane Been shared that Katie is currently FFA President and has also serve as VP for Community Service and as a student advisor. She is a three season athlete and has been for all four years of high school and received a teammate award in tennis and basketball with soccer being her third sport. Katie has a heart for service and reaching out to help others. She conducted a cancer awareness campaign last year. Katie also works on her family's farm so she gets up early to do chores. She is also a high achieving student. She is hard-working, determined and encouraging.
Katie has been accepted at UW-Platteville for next year and wants to major in Agribusiness.
The Sauk Prairie Optimist Club meets every Wednesday, the first Wednesday at noon and the remaining Wednesdays at 7 a.m. at the Blue Spoon Café in Prairie du Sac. Check us out on Facebook.
