On October 25, Milo and Vicki Kilen shared the hobbies that occupy their time since their retirement. Milo retired from the Sauk Prairie School District as a Technical Education teacher and Vicki retired from the health care field. Milo finds old parts from machinery and welds them into all sorts of garden art such as dogs, cats, owls and people. The Kilen’s donated one of their bird sculptures to the Ruth Culver Community Library. Milo displayed some his smaller sculptures at the meeting. He and Vicki travel to arts and craft fairs throughout Wisconsin especially during the summers. Vicki is an avid quilter who started sewing on a treadle machine when she was 12 years old. She brought various sizes and types of quilted pieces to display. She also explained the various techniques she has used to make her quilts. She stated making quilts is a very time consuming process.
