Marlee Mohrbacher named Optimist Middle Level Leader
Marlee Mohrbacher was selected as the the Optimist Middle Level Leader for December and was honored at the Optimist's December 20 meeting. She is an 8th grader and the daughter of Samantha and Timothy Mohrbacher. Marlee was nominated by her Art teacher, Kurt Rossbach who stated, “Marlee is an incredibly talented and dedicated student. When she isn’t working diligently on both classroom assignments and her own work, she reaches out to friends to be the support they need. Recently, Marlee participated in Project Girl, a program offered through the River Arts Center, that “combines art, media literacy, and youth led activism.” I was fortunate to be at the reception for this wonderful project and was able to witness the prowess by which Marlee took to public speaking and the sharing of her work. It is apparent that Marlee cares a great deal for the world she lives in and strives to do things in her life that make a lasting and beneficial contribution to our society." Marlee is involved in Project Girl, GSA and Volleyball at the Middle School. Her interests outside of school include art and music. After High School, Marlee would like to attend UW Stout and study Art & Design. Optimist President Jeff Boll, Timothy, Marlee and Samantha Mohrbacher, SPMS art teacher Kurt Rossbach and SPMS Assistant Principal Scott Erlandson smile after the awarding of the Optimist Middle Level Leader to Marlee on December 20.
