Ana Romero Ruiz named Optimist Student of the Month
Ana Romero Ruiz, daughter of Alonso Alcantar-Rios and Ana Ruiz-Hernandez was selected as the Optimist October Student of the Month. This past summer Ana worked as a volunteer for summer school as an English Language Learner (ELL) teaching assistant and, also volunteered her time at Afternoon Magic summer program. She was dependable, cheerful and willing to assist with any task. She was able to work with a diverse group of students. Ana also participated in the mentor program and also volunteered to work at the Middle School helping ELL students. As a Bridges member (High School and Middle School) she worked doing community service projects. She packs food during the holidays to help families in need, does community service at August Derleth Park, and does fundraising for school supplies for students. She is a great leader and role model for younger students. She cares about others and shows empathy. Ana is a mature girl with high moral principles. She is respectful, kind, honest, funny and smart. Ana is fluent in both English and Spanish.
The Sauk Prairie Optimist Club meets every Wednesday, the first Wednesday at noon and the remaining Wednesdays at 7 a.m. at the Blue Spoon Café in Prairie du Sac. Check us out on Facebook.
