SWIS Governor 2014-2015 |
JEFF KUCHENBECKER
Slogan: "Bringing out the Best In Everyone"
Welcome to the SWIS District website. It's my pleasure to be the Governor of the SWIS District for the 2014 – 2015 Optimist year. This year our theme is "Bringing Out the Best in Everyone". I truly believe that everyone benefits from having an Optimist Club in their community.

Governor's Update
My goals for this next year are:
I'd certainly like to see more club presidents, board members, and general members of clubs attend our 4 quarterly gatherings. We're hoping to make these more "family friendly and fun", and a fact often forgotten is that each club president is a member of the Board of the District. You (presidents) have a voice in helping guide this great organization of Optimist International, and especially our own "Southern Wisconsin--SWIS" District.
1. Let’s offer the Optimist experience to six more communities: Southern Wisconsin has a lot of communities that currently don’t have an Optimist Club. There are a lot of kids that are not benefiting from the programs and projects an Optimist Club can offer. Building six new clubs means that nearly 3000 more kids can be served. Many of us know friends and family that currently live in these communities. Please share their names with me so that we can start a conversation that might lead to that new club.
2. Let’s Get Visible: I want to see all of our clubs become more visible in their communities, by starting a new relationship with a local school or community center. Once that relationship has been made, the District will to help the club by offering a $50 rebate on the first year dues of a school or community center employee that becomes a club member.
3. Let’s be Generous: I am looking for 100 Optimists to join me in the Dime-A-Day giving program for the Optimist International Foundation. OIF needs our continued support to keep offering the annual scholarships for our Oratorical, Essay and CCDHH contests. If you give, I will too. I will personally match the $36.50 donation of every new Dime-A-Day giver during this next year. If the response exceeds my goal. That would be perfect. Let’s see how big we can make this!!
Optimistically,
Jeff Kuchenbecker
