Statistics show that 99% of all teens have access to the internet and 94% of students admitted to being cyber bullied and did not tell an adult. The importance of protecting the children in your community is a major undertaking and Optimists Clubs can play a vital role.
Most recently, the organization introduced an Adult Internet Safety Education component to teach large groups of adults about what youth may face online. April has been declared Optimist Internet Safety Month to bring attention to a growing safety issue with today’s youth.
Optimist Members have recognized the need to educate the youth and adults in their communities and are taking action.
